kmac Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Can you elaborate on "died" as you can just change the batteries on the exisiting fob. Quote
jamesey Posted February 23, 2008 Author Report Posted February 23, 2008 ive changed the batterys and it lights the led hit and miss , its as though the battery is going flat on it also it will programme once work once then not after that until i programme it again Quote
kmac Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 Seems like a problem on the Car rather than the remote if you programme it and it works once then you need to programme again. The reason I say that is that the car as far as I know doesn't send signals to the key fob. The key fob signal is stored in the car when programmed and when it is received from the fob the car then opens the doors. So it seems like the car is losing the programming info. Quote
NikpV Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 as I said elsewhere I wondered if your dodgy wiring was causing the car to lose/roll over the code Quote
kmac Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 To answer your question though - yes you can buy remote fobs...tons on sale onebay for example. However, it is not clear to me whether they will work with your car. On another thread, a guy said he tried a Golf remote on his Sharan and it didn't seem to work. I recently sold my Golf else I could have tried it for you. Quote
